Rise of Nations is still the best, and today is incredibly hard to get hold of on PC and doesn't even work on modern Macs due to lack of PowerPC support. It's a sad day. It's a sad day. Although honestly, all they need to do is re-release it on Steam with Mac and PC support and it'd go down a storm.

I didn't like it. It was a competent RTS, but lacked the characteristics which made Rise of Nations so unique. It was just an RTS, which I could play in lots of different games. I go to Rise of Nations for Rise of Nations. On topic, Sins is spectacular but in terms of atmosphere and setting I can't think of anything that comes close to RoN.
